Company & Trust
Is BuyContainers.now a real company?

BuyContainers.now is operated by Silknet Hong Kong Limited, HK Business Registration No. 76960202-000-08-26-4, registered at Suite 6503, 65/F, Central Plaza, 18 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Full company details are on the About page and restated on every quotation document.

How is my deposit protected?

Payment runs in two milestones: a 70% deposit on order confirmation and the 30% balance before release. The balance only moves after you approve inspection documentation of your actual containers. Funds go to a corporate account, and before paying anything you should verify the beneficiary name matches the company in your contract. That one check stops the most common payment fraud. If bank instructions ever change, confirm the change by phone through a contact you already have before sending funds.

How do I verify who I am dealing with?

Check the About page for the legal company, registration number and registered address. Every quotation restates them. Then make the beneficiary check on any payment, with us and with anyone else. If bank instructions ever change, confirm the change by phone through a contact you already have before sending funds.

Products & Condition
What container types do you sell?

Six new-build types: 20FT Standard, 20FT High Cube, 20FT Open-Side, 40FT Standard, 40FT High Cube (40HQ) and 40HC Open-Side, each with its full build sheet on its product page. We also sell new one-trip and used units from 44 depots across the US and Canada, listed with public prices on the depot stock page.

Are the containers certified?

Every unit is CSC-plated, built to ISO 668 and ISO 1496-1, surveyed under a classification society (CCS, BV, ABS or LR as applicable), carries TIR customs approval and timber treatment compliant with Australian import (BICON) conditions. The CSC guide explains what the plate certifies, and the terminology page defines the standards.

What is a one-trip container?

A new-build that carried a single cargo load on its positioning voyage. It is structurally a new container, positioned without a repositioning charge, with at most minor handling marks from that trip, and the manufacture date and condition are stated for each unit.

What is a shipper-owned container (SOC)?

A container you own outright rather than lease. It is your property to use as storage or export equipment, with no lease charges attached. Everything we sell is SOC. The SOC guide covers what ownership changes for you.

Can containers be painted in my company color with my logo?

Yes. Color and logo are applied on the production line, subject to batch minimums. Production branding is the main reason to factory-order standard sizes at all.

Pricing & Buying Routes
What is the true cost? What gets added to the container price?

Your quotation shows three components as separate lines: container price, procurement and service fee, and logistics. What remains on your side is inland haulage from the discharge port and any import duties in your country. Everything is itemized and nothing is bundled.

Is it cheaper to buy containers from China or in the US?

For standard 40HCs, US depot inventory usually wins once freight is counted, which is why we offer it. For 20FT units and Door Units, factory production with first-trip delivery usually wins, because those types rarely appear in depot surplus and local availability varies by market.

Can I buy containers directly from a factory in China?

Yes, at volume. Factories engage from roughly 10 to 20 units and prioritize carriers and lessors, and you take on verification, survey, export and shipping yourself. The trade-offs between routes are laid out in the buying guide.

Do you sell single containers?

Our program starts at about ten units per order. If you need one or two boxes delivered next week, a local dealer is the faster route.

Delivery & Timing
What is the lead time?

Factory production currently runs about ten weeks from order confirmation, tracked monthly in the market report. US depot stock releases within days of cleared payment. Your quotation states the production month in writing.

What is first-trip delivery?

On a first-trip arrangement, a new container's first voyage carries paying export cargo toward your destination, so the cargo owner covers the ocean freight and on suitable routes you do not pay to ship an empty box. You pay the container and inland haulage from the discharge port, and the unit arrives as your property after exactly one trip. The logistics page walks through it.

Do all your containers come from China?

No. Standard 40HCs are usually better sourced from US depot inventory, and we quote that net. 20FT units and Door Units come from factory production in China. Checking both sources is the first step of every quote, and your quotation states which one we recommend.

Where is your US depot stock?

Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia. Both depots hold new one-trip 40HCs with public prices, current unit counts, and a monthly allocation for recurring buyers, all listed on the depot stock page.
